WHO WE SERVE
Centro Escolar Juan Ramon Jiménez

Centro Escolar Juan Ramon Jiménez
Quezaltepeque, El Salvador

For many of the kids at Juan Ramon Jiménez Elementary, this is the first time they have ever used a computer. They are so excited to have an opportunity to learn basic computer skills that computer class has become the most anticipated class of the day, with students lining up awaiting class to begin. In both the morning and afternoon, all students from kindergarten to 9th grade are now receiving computer classes, and the students and parents could not be happier. A 6th grader named Johanna has been learning computer basics like how to use the mouse and keyboard. When she grows up she wants to be an accountant so being computer-proficient will be crucial to her success. The principal of the school, Danila Palacios, also understands from personal experience the importance of learning how to use a computer. After purchasing her own computer, she realized her 7-year old niece knew more about how to use the machine than she did. So Danila enrolled in a computer class, only to find out that she was the oldest one in the class! Danila kept at it and learned a lot, including how using computers would help make the school more efficient. Now she is excited to see the both she and her students are learning to excel in computer skills.
